Saying the writing is Plaid inspired would be a substantial understatement. The song is about swimming and walking in the forest behind the beach. It was also based on a sequence I was thinking about, where someone vanishes - I guess a kind of picnic at hanging rock scenario but by the beach :) . I used to walk around all these caves close to the water and there was always a sense that you could easily die there. The acronym, TTFN, stands for "ta ta for now" (goodbye for now). It was popular with British pilots during the war. It's that classic English soft irony, where the acronym takes as long to say as the phrase itself.
